Open Rehearsal Donor Event

 —  —

Salle Saint-George, 1020 NE 112th Street, Seattle WA

For current donors and those considering becoming financial supporters of our work, we invite you to come see it in action! SHAK relies on the generosity of people who care about keeping these glorious arts alive in the hearts, minds, and voices of the next generation.

In this short and sweet two-hour event, you'll be treated to a behind-the-scenes look at the people and doings of Seattle Historical Arts for Kids. You'll see a sneak peek of performance excerpts from our youth adaptation of Handel's opera Serse, by our cast members aged 7-17. They'll be acting in our spoken scenes humorously adapted from the opera's libretto, directed by Carmen Mettler; singing the best of Handel's beautiful arias and choruses, with live masterclass coaching by baroque voice expert Nancy Zylstra; and dancing period-style choreographies, created and coached by dancer Jamia Hansen-Murray. Accompanying will be, on theorbo, Seattle favorite John Lenti, and on baroque violin, music director Shulamit Kleinerman and our young apprentice chamber orchestra member Tess Roberts.

Relax with elegant finger foods and a glass of wine on us, and please bring your checkbook to help this amazing work continue! Donations are tax-deductible thanks to fiscal sponsorship by Shunpike, and can also be made online at: https://historicalarts.org/support
