EMYA presents: Italian Baroque Concertos

Christ Episcopal Church , 4548 Brooklyn Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98105

Skilled string and woodwind players of SHAK's Early Music Youth Academy, aged 12-17, perform concertos of the Italian Baroque in historically-informed style with accompaniment by guest artist coach John Lenti (theorbo) and director Shulamit Kleinerman (violin). String players use period bows to bring the music to life with sparkle and zest. The program explores the elegant expressiveness of Arcangelo Corelli alongside the buoyancy and fire of Antonio Vivaldi.

This 45-minute formal concert is suitable both for adult fans of Baroque historical performance and for young students and their families.

PROGRAM Arcangelo Corelli: Concerto Grosso Op6 #1 in D Major Antonio Vivaldi: Double Concerto RV 536 in a minor Antonio Vivaldi: Double Concerto RV 531 in g minor

ADMISSION is by free-will offering at the door (cash or check to SHAK); we suggest $5-15 per person. Performers’ families and all music teachers and young students are welcome for free. No one turned away for lack of funds.

ACCESSIBILITY INFO: The main entry to this older building's sanctuary performance space is up a flight of steps from the sidewalk. ADA access is via an indirect chairlift only (no ramp), so we advise arriving at least ten minutes before the performance. We are happy to welcome you, and we are grateful for your patience with one of Seattle's remaining antique buildings.

Thanks to additional guest artist coaches Meg Brennand, Henry Lebedinsky, and Anna Marsh for their contributions behind the scenes in bringing this music to life!
