Ticket holders to the Whidbey Island Music Festival's first concert of the summer season can also enjoy a pre-concert offering by SHAK's Early Music Youth Academy. Skilled EMYA musicians aged 12-17 perform concertos of the Italian Baroque in historically-informed style with accompaniment by guest artist coach Henry Lebedinsky (harpsichord) and director Shulamit Kleinerman (violin). String players use period bows to bring the music to life with sparkle and zest.
