SHAK's three pre-professional young-adult alumni viol players are all in town at the same time for a few days next week, so we're putting on a little concert! Join Tess Roberts '20, Nick Chrisman '21, Ian Kitchen '23, current high school viola da gamba student Jesse Barnes, and SHAK founder/director Shulamit Kleinerman (on early off-shoulder violin) for viol consort music of the early 16th to early 17th centuries. From Senfl to Holborne, and from dreamy fantasias to tangy madrigal harmonies to the beguiling push-and-pull of the basse dance, this short-and-sweet program is appropriate for Renaissance music fans of all ages, including both curious youngsters and adult specialists. Alumni and current student families are invited to gather afterward for a casual pizza social. There is no admission charge. Optional free-will donations to support the costs of the event and of SHAK's ongoing work are warmly welcome. The venue is ADA accessible, with on-street and lot parking.
